We request the international proletarian support for the developing very fair trade union struggle. All workers from plantations to other sectors are unable just to survive. Struggle is developing to protect their existence.
We told the JVP to abandon the chauvinist position and to fight taking a proletarian left stand. Within that we are prepared to work with them too. In this context the policy of the government based on repressing the media, duping the masses, burying democracy, and attacking workers and students, has started to collapse.
The chauvinist column of the government has already collapse. General Sarath Fonseka's visit to America cannot bring any good to the government. While international pressure is developing on one side, on the other side workers and students struggles have started pushing the government to the wall.
All are realizing that this breakdown is the best for the peole of the country. If such national and international conspiracy is taking place we shall openly support it. Because, it is the best for the country and the people.
Workers are struggling today not for a conspiracy. They are fighting for three meals a day for their families. Why? Because they have not got stacked up billions from frauds and commissions. If the government is incapable of giving into these just demands then it should get out. It must leave the country to be led by a group, who can save the country from bankruptcy and decay, uplift the human survival and develop the country.
